Mountain get away

Ahhhhh I am having the traveling blues. After a while I start to get the travel bug and i need to get away from my small town and take a breather from life and its twists and turns. So about a month ago I decided my boyfriend and I need to get a group together to go to Asheville NC. We asked his brother and his beautiful gal to join and his cousin and his lovely lady to join as well. Well lucky for us they think the same way we do so they were immediately down to go!!!! Hostel is booked with private rooms awaiting us. We leave Thursday and I can hardly wait. The fresh mountain air and vintage shopping is calling my name. We will start the new year in a new but wonderful place. I hope it snows : ) Happy new year my lovely's.

The other day my oh so creative boyfriend and I decided to make a  video showcasing my Native American inspired jewelry line Peaceful Mind Jewelry.  Its so inspiring to see his work.  It makes me want to make bigger and better creations.  Living in a home with so much creative juices flowing is so incredible.  We come to each other for advice and figure out how to make things better.  Its refreshing.  Speaking of new creations my mother and I decided to start making leather handbags together and we will be releasing them at the 6th annual Big Trunk Show at Cafe 11 tonight!!!!!  So excited and I hope people enjoy my new designs.  Will put pics up soon of the show.

I just bought a film camera from our local thrift store and im so excited that my first roll turned out well.  They have much more beauty than digital photos and this is all im going to use from now on :)

Aquarius children are an ever changing butterfly

Ahhhhhhhh once again I have broken out of my cocoon and fluttered away to another section of my life.  I feel like every year I begin a new change weather its moving, creating a jewelry line, moving in with my guy, getting a new tattoo the list goes on.  Always needing a change of speed in my life.  Its funny how attracted I am to butterflies.  Its almost as if i was one in another life.  They are such mystical beauties.  Huh good thing I found a amazing butterfly costume at a local thrift store for Halloween! Cant wait to flutter around all night!!

Another road side attraction

I have been reading a very imaginative book lately.  Its about a hippy butterfly and a tarzan sculpter and there roadside attraction.  This free spirited couple turn a old mom and pop restaurant into a hot dog stand/ roadside zoo.  There weekends consist of meditating, studying butterflies and picking rare mushrooms in the woods.  Its a magical story that every one should read.  I am on a cloud as I am captured by the book.



"That summer, Amandas big project was the establishment of a butterfly conservatory.   Since many moths have a very short life span,  there was a big turnover among the inhabitants of her institution.  Down by the waterfall, Amanda pitched her tent -- it was made of willow sticks and the wool of black goats.  Having filled the tent with her largest and softest paisley cushions, Amanda stripped down to her beads and panties and fell into a trance.  " I shall shall determine how to prolong the lives of butterflies," she had previously announced.  However, an hour later when she awoke, she smiled mysteriously.  "The life-span of a butterfly is precisely the right length," she said.

"There is no such thing as a weird human being.  Its just that some people require more understanding than others. "

I would dye for tea

Last night I took it upon myself to tea dye a white dress I found on the sale rack at Marshalls.  It was $8 and white as a wedding dress but when I got done with it, it looks like a sweet vintage find.  Ha and its totally eco friendly too :) So heres the dress and a link to the short and easy process of tea dying.

Lately I have been wanting to just run away or grow some butterfly wings and fly to a unknown land and free my mind for a while.  The stress of the daily life is getting to me.  Work mostly. I know this is normal and I need to learn to deal with life a little better but with Aquarius in my blood I just want to flee at any sign of adversity.  But hey at least I can dream about going off to a mystical place.  No one can take away my dreams.  So to all you dreamers out there keep dreamin cause one day they will come true.

Captured by your love

Ahhhh early morning rain on my roof top and soft music playing in my head.  thats what made me sit down and write a much needed post.  My life has been so busy I have not had much time to sit and write.  Is been a good and wonderful busy though.  Life is beautiful and unexpected.  I just moved in with my oh so wonderful boy friend.  People say thats a huge step and I agree it is but I have never been more happy or comfortable with my life before.  I wake up to his warmth next to me and I miss it when hes gone.  He treats me like a goddess.  Our 2 year anniversary is coming up this weekend and it still feels like I met him yesterday.  Our love will be never ending I can feel it.  Its crazy how I remember the day I met his kind face.  His long blonde hair high socks and vans.  i thought to myself I need to have him in my life.  I was a determined gal.  Our first date was surfing and our first kiss was in the ocean.  Pure magic it was.  I never looked back and here we are two years later living in a beautiful home and sharing our life.  Ohhhh life and its unexpected turns.  Hope everyone is enjoying today and feeling peaceful in their mind. Summer Skin

I still have my summer tan and i feel like it will be coming to a end soon.  i have been spending my last few days surfing and soaking up the sun with friends and it has been oh so lovely.  I have to say the beach is where I belong.  Although I did see a 3 foot shark and it did make me think twice but I caught a good wave and didnt mind once again.   I hope we can get a month or so more of warmth.  The cold tends to creep in fast.  Enjoy the full moon tomorrow my darlings I know I will  <3

What a woman

Joni has always inspired me.  Her folky sound makes my heart melt and not to mention she is a goddess in every way.  Her style is effortless and natural.  She is a true beauty.  Here is a picture from a shoot she did with vogue and I think its amazing.  I love ya Joni.

A new start

I just spent my first night in my new home and I have never felt better.  My boyfriend and I are making the step to live with each other and it amazing.  I love him so much and hes the perfect roommate.  There is nothing better than feeling at home and I felt at home the first night in this house. Ahhhhh the little pleasures of life. Now ill be occupied for a month decorating: )

Breathe exhale and smile

Today I took a deep breathe and smiled.  Why smile, well I know there are many things to not smile about but there is so many things to smile about. Here are some of my reasons :)  the cool rain on a hot summer day, baby's second birthdays, ice cream at 2 in the morning, the sun on my skin, tan skin, movies at night, mushroom tea, new tattoos, full moons, naked swims at night,afternoon naked swims,honey, love of friends, bikes, cooking, magic, shooting stars, being loved, hugs, kisses on my nose, the sea, longboards, clothing, ahhhhhhhh i could keep going but the main concept is that there is way more things to smile about than to frown about.  So give hugs and smile more. Life will be easy and fun <3

Fashion is.....

I believe fashion shows who you are.  Its not just something that is fabric and costs you money.  It is something that expresses your individuality.   I like took look different with my clothing that I wear.  Which in return it shows my personality because I think I am different.  Mixing different fabrics and shoes and jewelry to make something that you would never think would go together is what I try to accomplish.  I love seeing what other people wear and and it makes me happy to see people step outside of the box with there style.   So wear what you want and let your personality shine : )

Obsessed

This summer I have been obsessed with finding the perfect fringe bag.  They are expensive little items but I am determined to find one in my price range.  I hope my trips and adventures I am about to go on I will find my beloved leather fringe bag. Heres a few I can only dream of.

Harvest moon

Tonight is going to be a full moon and what a perfect time to go camping and be free and run around like the flower child I am.  I cant wait to be close to the moon and nature.  Its been a while since I have camped and I am sure looking forward to it.  Happy full moon loves.

Acai please!

Acai bowls are one of my favorite meals.  I dont know if its because its so tasty and refreshing or because it reminds me of the many times I ate them in Hawaii.  Acai is a energy berry and it is a great substitute for coffee.  Its a much better and healthier way to get goin during the day.  Its very simple to make and will not take alot of time out of a busy schedule. 

    1 1/2 packs acai (buy it in the frozen section of health food store)
    1 cup mixed berries (I use frozen raspberries, blueberries)
    1/4 cup apple juice
    1/4 cup soy milk (add small amounts to this if there's not enough liquid)
    1 banana 
    3-4 sliced strawberries
    1 cup vanilla almond granola (optional)

Inspiration

Ever since I  can remember I have been fascinated with Native American  culture.  All the colors and intricate designs.  No wonder I base my jewelry designs off of it.  Im so proud to be part Cherokee Indian and I love making Jewelry that shows that off.  I will be putting up some of my work very soon.

Tepees please

Ahhhh if I only could live in one of these :) There is something so magical about tepees.  Maybe its my love for the outdoors or my native American roots but having a tepee has been a dream of mine for a while. Im sure i will be staying in one someday. Until then ill be dreaming of dreaming in a tepee.

The Graduate

My wonderful boyfriend Drew graduated this weekend and i could never be happier for him.  He is everything to me and seeing him so happy made me just as happy.  He has worked so hard at Flagler College and he deserves so much more than I can give him.  I also got the pleasure of spending the week with his amazing family.  They are so connected with each other and its so beautiful so see and be a part of.  So Drew, im so proud of you and now that your out of school we can explore the world together like the flower children we are. Love you more than the world.

Rock and roll mama

I have been reading the book just kids by Patti Smith.  she is such a talented women  and an inspiration to me as well.  She went through so much to get to where she is.  Living in the 60's was a very hard time but also an amazing time to live in. She got to be friends with Jimi Hendrix Janis Joplin and the Velvet Underground.  She lived and witnessed so many of my day dreams.  I admire her for what she does and I love how she stuck to her roots and who she is.  Im gonna stick to my roots  and be who I am just like Patti :)
